This week, the guys dig into a very intangible topic: inspiration. First though, a winner was announced for Candid’s first giveaway. @eelyhovercraft walked away with a new ThinkTank backpack thanks to a pretty solid tweet. Congratulations!
Second, Álvaro and Marius answer a listener question regarding high ISOs and their purpose: “Why are ISO limits so very high when we never seem to shoot past 6400/12,800?” It’s a pretty good question, and they do their best to come up with a reasonable answer.
Then it’s time for Candid’s second giveaway! The good folks at Serif have graciously donated two copies of their great photo editing application, Affinity Photo. This is a gorgeous and powerful app that is entirely Mac native, although a full-featured Windows version is also in the works and will be released soon. In order to win, all you need to do is follow the show’s Twitter account: @Candid_FM. The two winners will be selected at random, and announced next week. Good luck!
Afterwards, Álvaro, Marius, and Josh discuss where they find inspiration, who they try to emulate, and what styles of photography they enjoy shooting. A wide range of popular photographers are thrown around, as are methods in which to find these popular photographers. In the end, everyone needs a good reason to fire the shutter.
